Wonderful Forest Green Rayon Crepe 1940s Day Dress with Carnival Glass Beading, Stenciled Mesh and Yellow Cuffs
Vintage 1940s dress in one of the finest 40s colors, a glorious deep forest green. The rayon crepe has a beautiful texture and unique embellishment. The neckline is a high v. All round the neckline and yoke are leaf shapes stenciled through mesh in a soft chartreuse color. They are outlined in green carnival glass beads. Such a striking combination! The three quarter sleeves are wide, with the bottom 2" lined in yellow rayon. This can be turned up as a cuff, or allowed to simply peek out when you move. A row of shirring at the right hip - the opposite side than standard - creates drape across the skirt, opening to a faux wrap style. This dress closes with a side metal zipper.
*For this dress, the modeled shots better represent the color than my mannequin photos.

This dress is clean and ready to wear. There were bright spots of fade at the underarms, which I used used the closest matching permanent dye pen I could find, but the tone is a little darker than the original color (a huge improvement, though, I very, very lightly touched up the upper left shoulder as well. There is mild fade at the top of the right shoulder and outer edge of each sleeve, as well as a little toward the hem. This wears beautifully, and I find no other issues to note!
