Vintage Edwardian Dress - Rare 1920s Navy Blue Wool Winter Dress with Attached Rear Cape and Drop Waist with Attached Belt
This stunning mid-20s wool winter dress is perfection in deep navy! The worsted wool is a quality that cannot be had today. I absolutely adore day dresses from this era, they are so functional and uniquely styled. The silhouette is straight to the hip and then slightly flared below the drop waist with pleated side insets. The sleeeves are fully length, the collar is small - both the cuffs and collar are satin. The bodice has the look of a separate top at the front, and has an asymmetric cape open at the left. The attached "belt" sits on the hips, and has a large, glossy black buckle. The pleats at the far left lend dimension. This beauty slips over the head and has no closures.
Label: None Present
Condition: Good, as is, with falws
This dress is sturdy and lovely with no signs of shattering, weakness or age staining. There are scattered moth chews throughout - these don't stand out at all, but they are present. Three in each sleeve, a few in the bodice, and about eighteen in the skirt, most quite tiny - with a matching slip, these will never be noticed. I find no other issues to note, this dress wears beautifully.
