Vintage 1960s Mint Green Velveteen Skating Dress with Fuzzy White Trim
I am having a lot of guilt for failing to get this (and other holiday book) items listed before Christmas, but hopefully some of you lovelies likes to plan ahead - and there's still plenty of time for winter fashion. Doesn't this little dress make you want to put on iceskates and twirl around the lake in Central Park? This is the real deal - a dress made for a roller skater or ice skater, probably in the early 1960s. It's a fresh, minty blue-green, trimmed with fuzzy white "faux fur" like that of a Santa suit. The skirt is free, full and quite short.
Shoulder to waist: 14"
Label: None Present, Homemade
Material: Cotton Velveteen, faux fur
Condition: Good minus, very wearable, as is
This dress has not been cleaned, as my cleaner wouldn't touch it with the fuzzy trim. There remains, then, some subtle storage dinge around the shoulders and yoke area. There are three small spots on the skirt. The most notable flaw is a missing segment of faux fur - the lining is torn at this point to -at the right back. It does rest in the folds, so it's not notable when worn, but would be seen during a spin. I have priced this gently with this flaw in mind.
