Vintage 1940s Pale Blue Dress with Sheer Sleeves and Skirt

  • Product Description

Vintage 1940s gown in the palest blue hue - a color so light that my images are still a little oversaturated. This sweet gown is an early 40s style, made of a drapey, sheer rayon and nylon blend over celanese acetate lining. The neckline is a narrow sweetheart shape, with hidden shirring creating gathers at either side of the shoulder. The bodice is fitted with a drop to the top of the hips, has self-fabric buttons as accents, and self fabric ties that make a bow or not at the center of the neckline. The half  sleeves are unlined and gathered with shirring. The skirt is perfectly, softly draped. This closes on the side with a zipper that is a modern replacement.

This dress is very petite, and fit the size 0 form as shown. It was somewhat difficult to put on, so narrow shoulders are a must.

      Shoulders: 13"
      Bust: 33.5"
      Waist: 24.5"
      Hips: 46"
      Length: 42"

      Label: None Present
      Material: Nylon/Rayon
      Condition: Good plus

This dress is clean and ready to wear. There is some VERY faint discoloration at the underarms. There are some minor snags in the sheer layer -just tiny little catches - but nothing significant. I found one tiny spot on the back of the bodice, and one at the back of the skirt. As noted, the zipper is a replacement. I find no other issues to note!
