Vintage 1940s Dress Set - Wonderful 40s Novelty Print Suit in Yellow Chartreuse with Black Colorblock Peplum
This 1940s set is absolutely wonderful, a bold mix of yellow novelty print (this leans toward yellow chartreuse) and back rayon faille accents. The printed textile is a lightweight bemburg rayon, and it features butterflies and note cards, little flowers and birds, harps and books. The sweet whimsy is dramtically contrasted with colorblock of black rayon faille, a crisply sophsticated style matched with squared gold and black buttons. The mix of powerful sophisticate and charming novelty print makes this piece truly special. The black continues at as flirty pleated peplum, longer at the back. I'd happily pair this top with black trousers or a black skirt to make this work double time in my wardrobe! The skirt is all novelty print, five gores - two at front and three at back, for a sleek and flattering shape. The blouse closes with buttons, the skirt with a sturdy metal zipper.

This set is dry cleaned and pressed and is ready to wear. There are some pulled threads in the rayon print along the edge of the right sleeve. There is a little strain where the snaps are sewn on the waistband. The print is clean and fresh, the suit sturdy and ready for years more wear. I find no other issues to note!
