This vintage 1940s evening dress is striking in saturated turquoise hue. This piece has a high neckline, and sturdy shoulder pads. Decadent beadwork faux pearls swath the neckline, outlining a keyhole accent. The short sleeves drape flatteringly, while double darts trim the bloused bodice to the waist. The skirt is full cut and gracefully draped with panels cut on the bias. This piece closes on the left with a sturdy metal side zipper, and two buttons at the back of the neck.
Material: Rayon Crepe de Chine
Condition: Very Good minus
This gown is clean and ready to wear. There is mild discoloration at each underarm, although more so at the left than at the right. There is a single, faint thumb print size smudge on the mid left front of the skirt, and a smaller one at the mid back right - both are hidden in the folds. The original belt has faded somewhat, but not dramatically. This dress is strong and sturdy and wears beautifully!!
