Vintage 1910s Edwardian Hat - Rare c. 1916-18 Lamé Hat with Green Velvet Accent and Underbrim, Deep Crown

  • Product Description

Vintage 1910s Edwardian hat is a rare beauty in a patinaed lamé. This fabulous 1916-18 hat was once a bright gold, but as with most lamé, it darkened with time. There is a very subtle swirling pattern, hard to see at this point, but still a detail to be appreciated. The underside of the brim is an emerald green velveteen. The same velvet, sewn in a wide piping, zigzags back and forth from the right of the brim up to the top of the crown. The crown is deep, but not overly wide, and will sit well on standard hairstyles as well as slightly larger Edwardian looks. It is lined in pale green silk.

Marked Size: Not Marked as to size.

As stated, the lamé has patinaed. There are two thin spots that have split (last photo) and some lifted fibers. There is a rubbed spot on the green velvet under the brim. The lining is shattered. it still wears beautifully, and is priced at about half the cost of a lamé hat in finer condition.
