Timeless Late 30s Crocheted Ivory Summer Dress with Puffed Sleeves

  • Product Description

Vintage 1930s sweater dress is fantastically styled, hand made in the era from those wonderful pattern books we've all seen, and lusted over the designs in their pages. An ivory crocheted summer dress really never goes out of style. These were being worn in the 70s, and 90s, and now - it's really all about what you choose to wear under it and pair with it with. A late 30s creation, the sleeves are short and puffed. This piece has really daring styling, featuring segments of a very open, mesh like stitch over each side of the bust and down the back of the the bodice. The balance of the piece has a tighter - but still open - stitch. The skirt is six slim joined gores. The dress slips over the head, and has a side closure with snaps.

This dress is clean and ready to wear. l I find no other issues to note.I found one broken or missed stitch near where the sleeve meets the shoulder. There are three very small, minor rust spots on the back left of the skirt- these don't stand out, and I think treating them would lighten the fibers too much. I find no other issues to note!
