A killer femme fatale late 40s dress is exactly my kind of color block. This chic 40s piece is made with a bodice of pink satin with an incredibly subtle jacquard and a solid black rayon skirt. It has sturdy shoulder pads and narrow, deep sleeves. Cut on the bias, the rayon satin has a floral pattern that you can only see from certain angles, when the light hits it. It has an unusual tab style collar, and closes with a hook at the back of the neck. The skirt is a swingy, flared shape, four bias cut goes, for a perfectly flattering drape. The dress closes at the side with a sturdy metal zipper.

This dress has been cleaned and is ready to wear. Warning: the bodice is prone to water spotting, as I learned the hard way with my steamer and first cleaning attempt. This is dry clean only, and should not be worn in the rain. The satin is just worn from previous cleanings, I suspect, or the jacquard might be less subtle. It's entirely structurally sound, but it's uncommon to see a brocade so faint. There's still three subtle water spots on lower from above the waist from my steamer (sorry.) I find no flaws on the black skirt. The dress is clean and ready to wear, and gently priced with imperfection in mind.
