This gorgeous late 1930s/early 40s dress is a guaranteed hit - a torch song worthy number made for glamour and impact. The bodice is accented with a large, heavily sequined rose in glossy red with black leaves and stems. Darts at the right create drape across the bodice. The high neckline has a subtle boatneck effect, and sleeve headers create a peaked shoulder silhouette. The skirt has six narrow inset gores that create soft drape. The dress closes with a side metal zipper and self-fabric buttons at the neck.
Bodice is bias cut which allows for mild give.

This dress is very sturdy and can absolutely be considered ready to wear. I have not had it dry cleaned, as my cleaner isn't trustworthy with sequins. It has some feeling of settled storage soil, but nothing that is visible. There is some minor soil at the inside of the neck front and back from makeup, that won't be seen when worn. It's exceptionally sturdy and striking.
