A gorgeous 1940s suit, striking it color and detail. The color is hard to name - a soft red hue, a strawberries-and-cream color that is hard to resist. The collar is notched. The line of the jacket is long, a scalloped cutaway at front, embellished with pinwheels of trapunto. The shoulder pads are significant. It is fully lined with black rayon. The skirt is a flattering four-gore a-line. It closes with a Segalock zipper.

This suit is clean and ready to wear. I have patched one 1/4" moth chew on the skirt with self-fabric from the selvage and darned four tinier holes - one on each sleeve and two at the back of the neck. Held to the light, there is one more thin spot on the skirt, but it's not seen any other way. The repairs are very subtle and don't detract from this rare suit.
