Vintage late 1930s suit is sporty and versatile. It's excellent worn together, and both pieces wear well separately! The fabric is a blend that I've come to recognize as silk-wool, a fabric that really is surprisingly ideal for sunny months. It's a heathered plummy purple-red hue. The short sleeved top is a style we associate with pantsuits, although plenty of skirt sets like existed - it's got very small shoulder pads, short cuffed sleeves and a wide collar. The cut is long, and there's working pockets at the front hips. The skirt is swingy and flared, with long darts that open to pleats at the front. It closes with buttons along the left side. Both pieces are unlined
I'm afraid a broke a button while shooting it - and I just don't have a good set or I would have replaced them on the spot. Apologies!
Label: Cay Artley (tagged in skirt- it's frayed but I figured it out!)
Material:Blend - Silk and Wool most likely
Condition: Very Good minus
This set is clean and ready to wear. As noted, I broke a button - I'll source the closest match I can and send it along. The buttons on the skirt are likely already replacements. The tags are frayed and faded, but aside from that and the single button? This set is fantastic, I'd honestly almost have called it excellent otherwise.
