Sporty 1950s Two Piece Skirt Set with Cropped Blouse by Charles Hymen
This late 40s, early 50s two piece ensemble by Charles Hymen is the definition of sportswear chic. Made of a lightweight tabby wool blend, a weave that wears similarly to gabardine, the top can be used as a blouse or jacket. It is cropped, with a wide, fitted waistband and bloused silhouette. Two large, square pockets accent the chest, with buttons that match those on the cuffs of the three quarter length sleeves. The skirt is a classic, chic straight skirt. Made in a grey and fuchsia-pink plaid, it's really just fabulously smart, and the pieces will wear as well together as they will separately. The skirt closes with a metal zipper.
Skirt Waist: 27", button can be moved to 28"
Skirt Hips: 40"
Label: Charles Hymen
Material: Matte Rayon - material is similar to gabardine
Condition: Good, as is
This set is drycleaned any ready to wear. The top is very good, with only a little soil on one button. The skirt is Good, as is - I've used self-fabric and fusible to patch two moth chews. Someone took out the right side seam, but didn't adjust the waistband. It still wears beautifully, but is prone to being pressed at the original hip size (39") instead of 40", because of the way the fabric lays. There is a small spot at the back left. I find no other issues to note.
