Vintage 1940s pantsuit is the real deal, rare and fantastic. Homemade, it is a later 30s or early 40s piece -it can be hard to date perfectly when home sewing is involved. It is made of a soft blend of cotton and linen in a springy honeydew melon color. The set offers a midriff top with button back, adjustable straps and gathered bust. The pants have no defined waistband, and originally closed with buttons at the center back. The previous collection closed up this short button closure, and put a modern invisible zipper on the left side. A sturdy and functional set, this treasure will be a favorite for summer.

This wonderful set has been hand washed and is ready to wear. It is soft from being worn and washed over time. The side seam at the far left of the bust has frayed and been restitched by hand, but the pulling is still somewhat visible. A wedge was taken in on the far right side of the bust in the past, and then opened, and as this is a bit darker than the rest, exposes that the set has faded some with time. There are two spots on the back of the left leg, and some minor speckled spotting in the bottom few inches of each leg, nothing that stands out. The set is sturdy and looks absolutely fantastic on.
