Sophisticated 1940s Rust Colored Rayon Dress with Mustard Colorblock Draping

  • Product Description

This striking 1940s dress is really made to show case your best belts and jewelry. Bold but relatively simple in design, the primary shade is a saturated rust brown. The wide three quarter sleeves are edged with a mustard gold - a color more saturated than my mannequin photos capture. The draped neckline is the same rich yellow. Heavy shoulder pads create a strong silhouette. The skirt is sleek with a slight flare. We love this paired with wide printed or studded belt.

This dress is clean and ready to wear. I believe this likely came out of a costume collection at some point, as there's names with number (Roxy 74, DJ 98) written inside the extra fabric lining the back of the neck. The hem has been out out to the maximum in the past. There is a darned hole under the right arm, and a patched spot on the back left shoulder. There are other little snags to the rayon texture, mostly low on the skirt, but nothing significant. I found a few repaired seam pops when examining the interior that could have been done better, but it wears just fine. I find no other issues to note!
