Vintage 1940s dress is a marvelous color in classic rayon crepe. It's a timeless mid-40s silhouette that wears perfectly. The color is dark and rich, a blue that's like periwinkle night. Night quite slate, it's too purple for that. It will be gorgeous with autumn tones and set off well with spring pastels. Collarless. it will showcase necklaces to perfection. The sleeves are short and cuffed. The pockets are asymmetric - one at the left chest, the other at the right hip, and each accented by a slip-though bow. The dress closes collar to hem with the hidden center button placket. The original self-fabric belt is still present.
Label: Frances Dexter Original by Alex Carafiol
Material: Rayon Crepe
Condition: Good plus, as is
This dress has been dry cleaned and is ready to wear. There was a bright fade spot on the right front of the bodice to the side of the button placket - careful use of fabric dye pens has made this almost invisible. There is a little fade on the head of the belt, and on the dress right where it sits, but this would never be seen when worn. There's a bit of fade on the shoulders as well. The dress is sturdy and read for years more use. I find no other issues to note.
