A glorious, ultra sheer black blouse is a piece that is clearly made as a more tailored version of the classic Hungarian peasant blouse. This 1940s gem is tailored to the waist with darts. The full cut sleeves are cut long and then have fitted cuffs, so the sleeves fall in soft folds. The embroidery is decadent, richly saturated red, mustard, blue, green and lavender. It is finished with knots of a coral pink. This rings the neckline and shoulders, and each upper arm. It closes down the back with buttons.
This exquisite 1940s treasure is something I bought for myself, and if the bust had only been darted, I would have kept it forever. As it is, it's made to be bloused on a larger medium or size large - it won't fit an extra large.

Bust: 46" - no darts
Label: None Present
Condition: Good, as is
This top is sturdy and ready to wear. This has some scattered holes and repairs, not from weakness, maybe moths? There are two old darned repairs of about 3/8" on the back, one just under the neck at back, and one at the back left shoulder. There is a small hole on the left bust, and seven on the back of the right sleeve - one is just under 1/4", one smaller than that, and five that are very tiny. This blouse wears beautifully. I find no other issues to note!
