Vintage 1920s dress is a sheer delight in a very early celanese material - an usual sheer synthetic blend that would have been absolutely brand new at the time. The background is a very rosy peach - almost autumnal in hue. Printed throughout are violet, purple, aqua and dark brown flowers. This mid 20s beauty will be a treat this summer, lightweight and breathable, keeping you stylish for garden parties. The waist is dropped and the skirt gathered, while a self-fabric attached sash traces the hips. A fluttering handkerchief is attached to drape at each side - it's homemade and the placement seems a bit random, but it really works when you wear it. This dress has no closures, and simply slips on over your head.
Drop Waist: 39"
Label: None Present
Material: Celanese acetate blend
Condition: Fair, wearable as is
This dress is clean and ready to wear. There are some issues to note, but this dress is still perfectly wearable and priced with condition in mind. While the fabric seems sturdy, it has numerous little holes - I think likely started as snags or maybe moth chews that frayed, or places where stitches were removed. Most notably is a 1/4" frayed hole a bit off the right underarm, and two groupings above the center point of the sash front and back. There are others, but they just simply don't stand out - worn over a nude slip, they fade away from view. There's also some strain to the seams at the back of the neck. Overall, this dress presents nicely and would be a great option for a summer picnic or as breezy daywear.
