A striking 1940s dress in lovely, drapey rayon crepe. Let's cut to the chase here - you want to know about the wire shoulder pads. ME TOO, because I've seen only a handful of dresses with them, and I lust for a pair terribly. They are still padded and cloth covered, but are adjustable, so you have have extreme peaked shoulders or a more moderate shape. AMAZING. The cut is classic for the era - dramatic shoulders, a fitted waist, full length sleeves. The collar is high and small. A pleat circles the hips to give it an accent, at front, and at the back, all bets are off with this decadent shirred drape. I love the contrast of the severe, sleek front and the dramatic backside. The dress closes up the side with a sturdy metal zipper.

This dress is clean and ready to be worn. There is a water spot on the right bodice that didn't come away with a dryclean, and another just to the side of the keyhole. There's a few hand-stitched repairs at the back center seam I saw when inspecting the interior, but these aren't seen from the outside. I find no other issues to note!
