Rich 1940s Camel Colored Wool Suit with Soutache Accented and Gored A-Line Skirt
Vintage 1940s suit is a beautiful, elegant piece in a rich camel colored wool. It's such a striking silhouette. The shoulders are firmly padded. The winged collar and shield shaped pockets are lushly embellished with cordé soutach. The buttons are smartly top stitched, and the original replacement spare is still present on the interior! The jacket is lined with a rosy rayon crepe. The skirt is an aline, four gores at front and three at the back, a perfect 40s silhouette. The skirt has a left side zipper to close.
P.S. I know this is underpriced, but I got an awesome deal on it, and wanted to pass that on to you.
Label: Forstmann, 100% Wool
Condition: Jacket is Very Good minus, Skirt is Good, as is
This suit is dry cleaned and ready to wear. The jacket has two small surface moth chews (not holes) at the top of the right shoulder. I find no other flaws to note on it. The skirt has a single, almost invisible, moth darn on the front. The rear, however, has eight darns an two tiny pinholes. Five of the little repairs are covered by the jacket when worn. The others are not serious, but are present. These and my excellent buying price have both been taking into account when pricing it.
