Rare Late 30s Puff Sleeve Gingham Blouse in Red and White Check with Pique Bowtie
This vintage late 1930s top really is special. You see a lot of gingham in spring and summer editions of Vogue at the end of the 30s and start of 40s, but never with a country flavor - this is sophisticated fashion that just happens to be picnic-perfect cute as well. The collar is white pique, and becomes an attached bowtie with dramatic points (it's not hard to tie, I promise.) The half-length sleeves are puffed. The blouse is tailored to the waist, and has triple sets of buttons. I absolutely LOVE this piece.
Please use the shoulder measurement to best determine fit. This is meant for an XS or small. There are no darts at the bust, so I recommend this for up to 34", but not above.
Shoulder to Shoulder: 13"
Label: None Present
Condition: Very Good minus
This top is clean, crisp and ready to wear. The thread was failing at the underarms, and so we've had them resewn. There is some minor strain to the darts at the waist. I find no other issues to note!
