Rare Late 1930s Two Two Juniors Dress in Camel Wool and Brown Velveteen Colorblock with Roses
A charming very late 1930s sweetheart of a dress - this is quite unique, even for a junior's style of the era. Made with a woven wool bodice that mimics the appearance of burlap and brown velveteen, this frock is a textural delight. The scalloped collar is large, and each side bears a three dimensional appliqué rose. The puffed sleeves have light padded, and are finished with cuffs that feature another rose on each. The bodice drops below the fitted waist, meeting the gathered skirt with a scalloped finish. This dress fastens with a metal zipper along the and buttons down the front of the neckline.
Shoulders: 14" but with some room in the top of the sleeve
Label: None Present
Material: Cotton Velveteen
Condition: Very Good Plus
This dress is gorgeously fresh and crisp. The original glass heart buttons, while beautiful, were mostly missing or broken. I replaced all of the buttons but the top with 1930s glass buttons. I will include the remaining heart buttons in the package. There is an incredibly light shadow under the arms. There are a couple subtle spots and a faint darkening at the back of the neck on the otherwise vibrant lace. I find no other issues to note.
