Vintage late 1930s day dress in slubbed rayon and celanese blend made to look like slubbed silk. The sleeves are puffed with gathers from the shoulder and fitted with an inverted box pleat. Floral appliques of orange and green decorate the rounded collar, and the little front pockets. The dress closes up the bodice with cute rose buttons. The waist, which can't be seen, is fully shirred, give the skirt the heavy drape you see. The belt is of the era, but from a different source, included specifically because it is so perfect. The shapes of orange are quite close, although the greens are different. This dress is the pert, flirty silhouette of 1938, and I love it. It closes on the side with snaps and hooks
Belt has settings at 28" and 29"
Label: None Present
Material: Rayon and Celanese
Condition: Good, as is
This dress is clean and ready to wear. I have had it drycleaned, but have not washed it. There is a large, but very subtle, waterline through the skirt, but it largely hides in the folds of the skirt, as you can likely tell. There are three smaller spots in the skirt, and the collar seems to have a little soil, as well as some yellowing at the underams. The top button is missing. There's some handrepaired seam on the side of the waist. I find no other issues to note! I have priced with condition in mind. It is very sturdy.
