A fabulous vintage late 1930s dress in possibly the most fantastic shade of grassy green. If this were my size, I hoard it forever, amen. The silhouette starts with lightly puffed sleeves, that are shaped with pintucks - these pintucks contintue to the yoke. The neckline is particularly high, a feature quite popular in patterns from 1937 and 38. What I think is more ideal about this dress than anything else, though, better even than the color, is the way that the skirt sits. It is four gores at front, and three at the back - fairly standard. But the way it rests, perfectly fluted - that is something else. MASTERFUL. This dream dress is made of noil silk - a highly textured, rough feeling, matte silk. I love it. It closes at the back of the neck and on the side with metal zippers.
Waist: 29" (belted, this looks good down to 26")
Length: 41" (Hem has already been let down to the maximum, based on finishing)
Label: Bloomfield Creations
Material: Noil Silk
Condition: Very Good minus
This dress is clean and ready to wear. There MAY be say, less than half a shade of fading at the top of the shoulders, but I couldn't decide if the light is tricking me, even with folding to compare multiple points. I find nothing else to note - this beauty is in fantastic condition.
