Rare 1950s Kamehameha Bathing Suit Ensemble with One Piece Suit and Matching Tie Style Blouse

  • Product Description

This rare 1950s Kamehameha swimsuit set is made of a printed cotton that is truly as bright as can be. The ruched cotton sunsuit has a crisp lining and bonding for structure at the pleated bust. Long lines of light shirring rich the front, while the back is fully shirred with elastic. the suit has a short front skirting.  The exceptionally crisp cotton features a tiki-perfect print in volcanic colors. Surfriders ride the waves. Small illustrations of shells and seaweed and lizards are done in orange. It's marvelous. The matching top is tea-timer length, but intentionally cut to be buttoned and then tied at the waist. Amazing together or work separately!  Small insets of shirring give a little flexibility to the bust size. The suit closes up the back with a sturdy metal zipper.

This suit is crisp, clean and fresh, as well as sturdy and wearable. The blouse has one spot to the right of the bamboo buttons. On the suit, the vertical lines of shirred elastic is relaxed at each side of the front - there's still enough to have a gathered effect. The elastic at the back is still good, however, tight and springy.  I find no other issues to note!
