A killer, rare and fantastic Lilli Ann, made in the mid 1940s - thanks to the wonderful blog No Accounting for Taste, and the presence of the California Originals label, this can be dated to 1945.. Every other piece I've come across from this collection has gone in to my closet or that of close friends - this is the first to make it to the shop, and if it fit me, it would never. The Silhouette line is striking and bold - and I have never, ever seen one in this killer colorway. SHOCKING PINK with black. Amazing! Mine are merely black and white. The closure is asymmetric, five jet buttons long the side, with deep pleats giving the surplice closure drape. The sleeves are long. The shoulders padded. And it is lined with deep pink satin. A striking, rare separate for the bold.

This jacket is clean and ready to wear. Someone in the past removed the shoulder pads - I found suitable vintage replacements and installed them, and stitched up the seams by hand. The stitches are not as perfect as I would like - lining is slippery to work with -  but these are on the interior. I have spot treated and improved three little spots at the back of the right sleeve, and one at the edge of the left cuff. The ribbed wool has some rubbing, mostly on the black, but this doesn't stand out at all. A gorgeous, rare piece.
