Vintage late 1930s/early 1940s gown is such a killer piece - it is undeniable that of all the optional, needless but amazing things a gown can have, the hood is the pinnacle. More wearable than a train, more veratile that an open midriff, it lends drama, sophistication and has a clear "more is more" message. Old Hollywood glamour covers you head to toe, starting with the deep attached hood. The shoulders are padded for a strong, squared start to the silhouette. The sleeves are full length and smartly pointed. Central shirring below the waist works with the deep pleats low on the sides to create an incredible draped silhouette. The dress is beautiful and heavy, and will feel amazing to wear.

This garment is clean and ready to wear. There is very, very subtle darkening at the underarms, so faint I almost didnt' notice it at all. At the hem, there are some very, very faint lightened spots - you have to go looking to find them, you'll never see them when worn. This wears as perfect, it looks amazing, and is incredibly sturdy.
