This boldly colored silk umpsuit is a bit of a homemade mystery! I'm not sure if it was constructed as loungewear or beach pajamas. The tropical fabric, in a print style often seen on later 40s and early 1950s mens Hawaiian shirts, was probably purchased as yardage on vacation. It is stunning and bright with coral, blues and chartruese. The scene includes a beach, a walking bridge, boats of all sizes, and homes along the water. The style is a very simple cut with a zipper up the back. There's darts at the bust, but no fitting to the waist at all - you'll need a belt or sash.
Waist: 43" *tested fit and it work well from about 28" to about a 34" waist.
Label: None Present, Homemade
Condition: Good, as is
This piece has been very gently handwashed and is ready to wear.It is a silk - I don't know why I thought it was rayon at first. I think that elastic was removed in the past from the interior of the waist, looking closely, there's a dual line of tiny stitch marks. There is a bit of fade at the tops of the shoulders. When you examine it closely, you'll notice that the white often has subtle color transfer from the coral colors, but it's subtle and doesn't stand out when worn. It's VERY sturdy and very wearable and priced with flaws in mind.
