  • Product Description

Vintage 1940s day dress in a silky rayon jersey is rich and bold. If this was not in the lookbook, I would absolutely keep this beauty for myself - I mean, who wouldn't! The primary color flowers are bold firework explosions of petals, Red, green, black blue, yellow. The sleeves are puffed. the shoulders are shirred. There is a saw-tooth midwaist, and a faux gored effect to the skirt. This killler dress slides over the head and has no closures. The original self-fabric belt is present

This dress is clean and ready to wear. I don't think I've ever hand washed anything else more gingerly - because it really did need it, but jersey can bleed like the devil. Ice cold water and the gentlest detergent ever, should you need to. Their remains a little soil at the back of the neck that didn't lift. I have patched two holes on the left side of the surplice bodice, I think caused by long pulling where a safety pin may have been placed. There's color travel under the arms, and both underarms have been hand paired in the past. There are two pin holes in the skirt, and one little cut that I repaired. The outside of the right sleeve has a smudge. Some of the stitching for the faux gores has fallen out, but the print is so busy you don't see them really. I find no other issues to note. It's imperfect, but wears beautifully and is truly special.
