This wonderful, complete 1930s dress set is one of a those rare pieces that can boast both a National Recovery Act tag and an Fashion Originators Guild label. I wish I had a model available, because I know the sleek, stylish 30s nature of this piece would be so much more apparent on the human body. The style dates it to c. 1935, very fashion forward for the year, a piece that wouldn't have looked out of date for a decade. It is a richly navy blue rayon with a fine waffle weave. It is much more blue than these photos, and won't be mistaken for black. The dress is feels simple and elegant. The bodice has center pleat plackets for a faux closure look. The sleeves are pleated, brief butterfly style. The skirt has a tuck around the hips, and is four sleek gores at front, three at back. The dress closes with side snaps and a hook. The jacket offers a straight cut with raglan sleeves and no closures. The original belt is still present.

This fantastic set is clean, fresh and read to wear. There are a couple tiny little pulls to the waffle weave on the outside of the right sleeve of the jacket, and two on the skirt of the dress. These are TINY. The set is in fabulous, complete condition.
