Rare 1920s "Crushable" Cotton Sunhat in Lightweight Cotton with Chinese Floral

  • Product Description

This rare 1920s hat is an iconic style, one we seem in images of friends wearing beach pajamas on a board walk at the edge of the 1920s with the 30s. This easy wearing hat could be coiled like a reflector, and carried flat in a handbag. The floral rests on a deep red background which is still saturated, although the pastels of the flowers are somewhat light. The wire shape is flippant and fun, perfect for a too-hot day at the coast.

Condition: Good minus, very wearable as is.

This hat is absolutey wearable. The pastels in the print are faded. I do not thing it should be coiled up flat any longer - there's rust long some points of the edge and frayed spots that expose the wire, so I think it's best stored and worn as other hats are. There are some scattered spots, and I've stitched down 2" of crown to the brim. There is a small hole in one panel of the crown. Priced with flaws in mind, at half what I would charge for excellent condition. It is entirely wearable and ready to join you on the sand.
