Post-War 1940s Silk Novelty Dress with Unique Print of People Made of Shells

  • Product Description

Vintage 1940s dress in a terrific silk novelty print in chartreuse, violet, black, grey and white. At the first glance, one can see that there are figural people-like shapes - after a great deal of examination, we decided they seem to be made of shell shapes. These quirky images stroll throughout a background of cloudy grey and yellow chartreuse swirls. the neckline is framed with a wide collar. The front of the bodice features decorative double breasted buttons. The skirt is pleated toward the center for a perfect drape. This darling number closes with a side metal zipper.

This dress is clean and ready to wear. The buttons have some soil, not significant, but present. The lowest button has a lipstick smudge, as does the waistline - I couldn't lift this with a gentle treatment, so I have left it be as the busy print hides it, and a belt will cover it completely. I find nothing else to note.
