Vintage evening gown in a really luxurious, lightweight rayon crepe of yellow chartruese. This color was practically impossible to capture - and they still don't capture the depth, the warmth, the texture of the crepe. One of the earliest chartreuse I've had the pleasure of offering, this is actually returning to the shop about six years after it's first appearance, thanks to the original buyer. This rare gown is an exceptional high-fashion 30s piece with a halter neckline and dramatic bias cut. Old Hollywood glamour by the padded collar, fully surrounded by white rhinestones, and the stones which continue, spangled throughout the dress all the way to the hem. The back is a sexy 30s slit keyhole. The bias cut clings very close, narrowing toward the knee, so every curve is outlined, before flaring very slightly in a soft mermaid silhouette. The dress slips over the head and has no closures aside from the hook at the back of the neck.
This color was hard to capture. It has a tendency to come out too green, or too washed out, or too mustard - anything but exactly yellow chartreuse. Being an average of these photos is the most accurate way to describe it.
Label: None Present, although I could have sworn there was an NRA label the first time I sold it.
Material: Rayon Crepe
Condition: Good plus
This garment is clean and is ready to wear, having been freshly hand laundered. There remains a faint water line down the left hand side of the bodice, slightly to the back. There is one spot, smaller than a dime at the back right hip. There are a few ghostly remains of soil from sitting - these are very faint. The rhinestones are a little smoky with age but still glitter. This gown wears beautifully and small flaws have been taken into account in the price. It is entirely sturdy and brilliant, and ready to be worn.
