Lustrous 1950s Emma Domb Evening Gown in Silvery Lavender Brushed Satin with Pearls
1950s vintage dress by Emma Domb gown is elegant draped and heavily embellished in true starlet style. Soft colored matte satin has a weighty hand that just oozes glamour. The silvery lavender hue is subtle - almost, but not quite, a neutral. The neckline is peaked and is notched, built to stand away slightly from the chest. It is suspended from thin spaghetti straps, and filled with silver metallic soutache, faux pearls, clear seed beads and glittering white rhinestones. The waist is fitted. The skirt is draped, starting just below the waist, and becoming a cascade at the back. This magnificent piece closes up the back with a sturdy metal zipper.
*The dress has been let out, and was original about 1/2" smaller at the bust
Length: 56" at front, 59" at back
Label: Emma Domb
Material : Matte Satin
Condition: Good plus
This stunning gown has been professionally cleaned and pressed, and is ready to wear. The front of the hem IS slightly mis-pressed The pearls, beads and rhinestones are in perfect condition, with no loss of brightness or shedding. Someone let the dress out on the sides, refinishing the side seams of the bodice by hand. There is evidence where the original stitches were, and minor pulling to the hand stitches. There are a very tiny nicks to the surface of the satin, and one tiny spot at the back left of the skirt a bit above the hem. I find no other issues to note! This dress is sturdy and wears beautifully.
