Until this dress, I would have told you that velvet is really just for autumn and winter. There's no such thing as summer weight velvet. But, there is. This silk panne velvet is so lightweight you can read the lettering on my dress form right throughout it. It is styled in an utterly springy fashion, with a capelet type frill of individual velvet petals fluttering along the yoke and over the arms. The piecework is slimming and pointed at the front, curving and heart-shaped at back. The gown closes with a series of snaps along the side.
This dress is intended to be worn with a belt or sash. I would recommend for between 24" and 27" waist with a small bust
Bust: 34.5" (no darts)
Label: None Present
Material: Rayon Velvet
Condition: Good, as is
This dress has been dry cleaned and is ready to wear. There is a subtle water mark on the front of the skirt, and various seated marks in the velvet nap (one is front my steamer, and will come away the next time it is cleaned) A few of the petal have tiny holes. This likely used to have a wide attached sash that came above the waistline, as there was stitching I've largely pulled out along a consistent line. I've had to darn a thin spot at the front left and a hole at the center back from where those stitches were done too heavily. There is a notable repair on the waistline by the side snaps that I haven't touched, and a smaller repair at the top of the opening. The underarms are lightly soiled, nothing significant.
