Vintage 1930s dressing gown in a lush, soft rayon velvet. This glamorous piece is dramatic with sleeves that are full and puffed at the shoulder and fitted at the wrist. The color is rayon - a purple even more true than the photos, a gem tone to die for. A wrap style garment, this closes only with an internal hook and a snap at the waist. Because it's a garment that loves drama, it's longer at back than at front.

This dressing gown is clean and ready to wear. At one point, someone ripped out the underarm and replaced it with self-fabric - or something almost perfectly matching at least. It's sturdy, so almost certainly happened in the era. When one looks close, you can see that the skirt originally had a pressed-in Deco pattern - lines that make waves, criss crossing in fan shapes. This has been long stored, however, and between seating of the velvet from storage, normal seating from wear, and dry cleaning, you can only see this pattern at certain angles when it catches the light. There are two small spots on the skirt, and one at the back of the neck - all those are only seen from the interior. I find no other issues to note!
