Lovely Homemade 1930s Satin Blouse with Pintucks, Eyelets and Glass Buttons
Vintage 1930s blouse is a homemade sweetheart in lovely lingerie satin. This is the second blouse that I have that's clearly made by the same woman, althoguh this one was more loved and saw more use. It's really charming, with an elasticized waist for a cropped, bloused fit. The collar has hand-done eyelets and there's pintucks at the front yoke. The sleeves are short. It closes up the front with a hook at the waist, and 10 clear glass buttons. Absolutely perfect with evening trousers, no?
Waist: 25"-35" (best fit to max of 28")
Length: 18", meant to be worn more cropped and bloused
Label: None Present
Material: Rayon Blend Satin
Condition: Good minus, as is
This blouse is clean and ready to wear. Almost certainly made during the depression, she didn't have enough material to make the pattern and used a wide, uneven inset to make up for it. There is strain along the right seam of this inset (see last image.) There is also a 1/4 narrow hole on the back of the right sleeve. Much loved and worn, but still absolutely beautiful. The flaws won't show worn with a suit, jacket or jumper.
