This vintage 1940s hat is made of golden green chartreuese plaited straw - a lovely, subtle, but unmistakable version of the color. It didn't capture well in photos, so be prepared to be thrilled upon arrival. This two part design is made up of the the rounded crown, which extends below the brim at back, and the deeply upturned brim, which is set at a dramatic angle. the crown is filled with bits of pink and golden veiling, and finished with a single millinery magnolia. The interior of the crown is lined with grosgrain, and there is a tired elastic backstrap. (Though you may want to replace it.)
Marked Size: None Present
Interior Circumference: will fit all sizes up to 22.5 due to dramatic tilt
Label: None Present, likely a homemade piece
Material: Synethetic Straw, Grosgrain, Millinery Flowers
Condition: Good, as is
This hat wears beautifully and is ready to enjoy. The veiling is fragile, and broken, but as it is just gathered, cloud-like, into the brim, I think it doesn't mater terribly. I've added a few stitches to keep it in place. The elastic strap is entirely worn, and should be replaced.
