Vintage 1950s dress is sophisticated and stylish in a weighty, printed faille. This day dress features a climbing rose motif in deep red and coral print, with black heartshaped leaves. The silhoutte is classic, with a gored skirt full enough for a crinoline as shown, but it wears well without, too. The short sleeves complement the soft v neckline. This beauty closes up the side with a sturdy metal zipper.

This dress has been dry cleaned and is ready to wear. The white has almost certainly tanned a bit over time. This didn't improve with dry cleaning, and faille is not a good candidate for handwashing, so I think it can be assumed it is a warm off white forever. This was found a skirt hanger, and it had clearly been stored that way, worn and put back many times - there's scuffing and surface abrasion to the shoulders. There are some lighter abrasions to the faille above the waistline which I think are likely from a belt. The top of the center back seam and the seam above the zipper have been restitched by hand in the past. The skirt has a couple small spots hidden in the busy print. The dress really does wear beautifully, but is never going to be as fresh as new again, and is priced gently as a result.
