Vintage 1930s dress is a truly daring babe made of a glossy rayon blend satinThe satin sheen alone would be enough to sell me, but it's printed with a glorious, colorful abstract in a palette that I am dying for - a ground of black, nearby obscured by royal blue, coral red, chartreuse, white and teal. This killer piece is stunning offers a quintessential 1938 silhouette - lightly padded structured sleeves, a high neckline and complementary high waist, a sleek skirt. This would be just perfect sashed with chartreuse crepe. It closes on the side with a later-added plastic zipper.

This dress is clean and ready to wear. I suspect the neckline was altered at home in the era. I suspect this originally had no side opening, and someone later added a side zipper (I would guess in the 70s, by the type), somewhat awkwardly creating a placket with scraps of fabric, possibly taken from the interior or the hem (there is no additional hem remaining to the dress, so it is hard to say.) There is some rippling strain to the underarms/underside of the left sleeve - the left sleeve has internal reinforcement. I find no other issues to note, it wears beautifully.
