This fabulous war-era frock absolutely grabbed me the moment I saw it. Almost certainly a war-time alteration of a late 30s dressing gown, it opens from neck all the way to the hem with a metal bell zipper. This doesn't divide at the hem, but it's incredibly easy to slip on and off! The brown crepe is highly textured, almost looking like very tiny bricks, and the dots are screen printed. The sleeves are lightly puffed, and cut wide. The skirt is made up of twelve flared gores. The waist is flatteringly darted. An exceptionally wearable frock

This dress is clean and ready to wear. I was surprised when I was pinning the dress to realize that there is a flaw to the front of the right side seam - a 1"x3/4" hole that someone bonded self-fabric into using some sort of liquid thread. This doesn't stand out, but you can see it in the 13th image (third to last.) There are some scattered little snags to the crepe, nothing too significant, but a bit more notable on the shoulders.
