A decadent vintage 1930s gown in a delectably plush deep blue silk velvet.I know the photos are somewhat dark - velvet consumes photography light like a black hole - but you'll be delighted with the deep cobalt hue of this gown. The bodice is heavily ruched, with shirring at the shoulder, neckline, underbust and center of the midwaist, as well as tucks at each side. It has truly fantastic dimension. The back waist is shirred to allow some light blousing. The puffed petal sleeves padded into puff, ensuring the perfect peaked silhouette. Shirring along the top of the waist creates even more drape in the decadent, bias cut skirt. This beauty closes on the side with a sturdy metal zipper.
Hips: 38"-56" (isn't bias cut wonderful?)
Label: None Present
Material: Silk Velvet
Condition: Good, as is with small flaws.
This garment is clean and ready to wear. There are hand stitched repairs along the top of the zipper, about 1 1/2" in length - it's reasonably tidy and in an area not casually seen. Some of the shirring was repaired by hand as well, with a slightly brighter blue thread - it doesn't stand out terribly, but it present. Held to the light, there are five tiny moth chews in the skirt, and two in the back of the bodice, but the pile is so dense, you'll never locate them any other way. This dress wears just beautifully. I find no other issues to note!
