This vintage 1940s day dress is just exactly my style - bold, saturated with lightly puffed shoulders and wonderful use of shirring. The color is a yellow chartreuse, a striking contrast to the green buttons (it's more yellow than the photos - actual chartreuse rather than lime.) The sleeves are short and lightly puffed, the hip pockets cleverly shirred, and there's yet more shirring, high the back waist. This casual cutie still has the original self-fabric ties, too!
Label: None Present
Material: Slubbed Rayon
Condition: Good plus, as is
This dress has been dry cleaned, hand washed and is ready to wear. While I could not capture it with my primary camera, you will want to look at the close ups I've added - there's inconsistency to the color throughout. I don't know why it doesn't show up in long shots, it's subtle, but definitely present when you examine the dress for it. There's subtle sort of orange-brown discoloration throughout. Maybe a chemical reaction with the dye? Maybe washed with some foundation? None of it is glaring, but there are areas where there is more of it - like the sleeves and back right hip. It wears beautifully, though, and is gently priced for the style and color with this in mind.
*the close ups are more golden yellow than the color - the true color is in the between point in the two sets of photos.
