Vintage c. 1939/1940 suit is a beautiful, elegant piece in woven wool. It's has a striking silhouette with firmly padded shoulders. The sleeves three quarter length. The stand out feature is of course the asymmetric closure - three embellished buttons at the upper left and self-fabric ties at the waist. The right featueres a scalloped accent pocket with contrasting details of brown, fuchsia and marigold. The skirt is a flared six-gore a-line, so it has plenty of room for hips. It has a side button placket to close.
Forgive the variance in the blue colors - I'm using a new camera for the first time and admit that I'm struggling with the white balance and resultingly, color correction. The color is best described as a light robin's egg blue. The second image is a little washed out, but closest to accurate.

This suit is freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear. The skirt has a single moth chew which I have carefully darned with a patch of self-fabric. There are two small stains (pencil eraser sized) on the left side seam of the skirt and a pin-tip sized spot on the back. The jacket has a mild yellow spot on the neck, much improved by dry cleaning, and light underarm ring on the right side. I find no other issues to note!
