This vintage late 1940s jacket is the sort of thing that makes an ensemble. Top any skirt, dress or trousers with this jacket/cape ensemble and own the room. The jacket itself is quite simple, though beautifully tailored, with padded shoulders and a single breasted closure. The cape is scalloped at the front, with coils of self-fabric creating a mirrored embellishment. It fits under the collar of the suit jacket and ties with self-fabric piping in a perfect bow. Both pieces are lined in satin with happy little trolley cars.
I found a shop with a very different suit from the label that I suspect is the same gabardine, and happens to the be the same size - I'll happily refer the buyer to that shor
Label: Botany Brand, Superchan, An Original Design by Kay Saks of California
Material: Wool, Rayon lining
Condition: Good, as is
I don't know how, but somehow the top button to the jacket went missing during our Lookbook shoot - I didn't realize it until I was shooting the piece. I'll give the buyer a handful of replacement options prior to shipment. That said, when you wear this with the capelet, you won't see the top button at all. And why wear it without?? There's a small rust spot between the fourth and fifth buttons, covered when buttoned. There's two tiny spots on the front of the right shoulder, and one at the back. There is one moth chew in the right sleeve, and about three instance of minor surface mothing. I find no other issues to note. This set wears beautifully.
