Incredible 1940s Dorothy O'Hara Draped Cocktail Dress in Mocha Rayon

  • Product Description

A jaw-dropping cocktail dress by the queen-of-drape, Dorothy O'Hara. This sensationally bombshell 1940s number is made of a mocha hued rayon that is as lustrous as it is drapey, and just slays as one of the earliest styles from O'Hara's line. Piecework creates a keyhole at the neckline, divides the bust and draws eyes to the hips. Pleats into these insets are what make the perfect drape. The dress closes up the front An array of pleating surrounds the front of skirt waist, leaving a trail of curve hugging drapery in its heart-breaking path. This phenomenal number closes with a back metal zippe, with the hooks at the back waist that are a signature feature of O'Hara pieces

This dress has been cleaned and is ready to wear. There is a repair to a small off-seam tear under the right underarm, and a few little spots along the back waist seam seem to have been closed up by hand. The hem has been let down to its maximum. The back has a tiny hole from a price tag, and one spot spot on the bodice. The back of the skirt has very subtle along the center back seam and back left side - it doesn't stand out when worn, but also didn't come away at the cleaner, the dress is about half price due to this imperfection.
