This vintage 1950s Jantzen maillot is absolute the most ideal, iconic bathing suit for the era. It seems to match the shape of Jantzen suits 1949-51 best, although I couldn't locate the ad for this exact suit. Pure white, it has a texture similar to pique in a sturdy stretch fiber. The bust is divided, and shaped with curving seams, the reinforced with a sturdy lining (no garbage foam here!) A flattering one piece beauty, this piece offers adjustable straps that may be worn crossed in front or back, worn straight or tied as a halter. The lower half is skirted at front and full coverage at back.It closes with a sturdy metal zipper up the back. The Jantzen diving girl decorates the lower left side.

This suit is sturdy and wearable. It has been freshly hand laundered. There are some set in creases at the waist, although these disappear when worn stretched. There is a single makeup colored smudge under the left cup, maybe from tanner? And a light pinhead sized spot on the right side. I find no other issues to note!
