This stunning vintage dress is gorgeous and rare in the softest possible matte silk. This style suits patterns from 1938 and 39, some of my favorite years for fashion. The ground is a very subtle blue-grey hue, the color we know best as aviation blue, and ivory butterflies flutter throughout. They are quite detailed. The dress is marvelous with incredibly fine detailing - hidden shirring at the shoulders and waist makes exceptional drape on the bodice. There is more shirring at the sleeves, and again at the scallops on the hips. The matching self-fabric belt is still present. I cannot tell you how much I love this bloused fit - this dress is spectacular.

This dress has been dry cleaned and is read to wear. There are two small pink spots from lipstick (NOT from our shoot) just below the waist. I was able to lighten but not remove them. Luckily, the belt sits right over them, so they are not seen when the belt is worn. When the dress was found, it had a mouldering corsage on the shoulder There's some spotty brown stains on the left shoulder as well as teeny pinholes from that. There's also three spots at the a back of the neck, and two little dots at the back left of this skirt that hide in the folds. This sounds MUCH worse than it is, the dress wears beautifully.
