Gorgeous Late 1930s or Early 1940s Volup Suit Jacket with Trapunto Hip Detail

  • Product Description

Important note! Several of the photos of this piece are apparently corrupted and can't be opened, but I ran out of time to get new images before activating the listings! If you are interested in it, please write for quick photos of the back or details.

It's hard not to keep this gorgeous jacket for myself- it's so far that a 30s jacket comes up in a volup size! This piece doesn't display well on the small form, because the front details move around the sides, but it's going to be FANTASTIC on you. Made pf jet black wool crepe, it features wide peaked lapels and a low gorge with single button to close. Each side of the waist has SIX darts for shape, above actual pockets that are worked with elegant trapunto. It is fully lined with rayon satin.

      Shoulder: 17"
      Bust: 45"
      Waist: 37.5"
      Hips: 45"
      Length: 28"
      Sleeve: 23"

      Label: None Present
      Material: Wool Crepe, Rayon Satin
      Condition: Very Good minus

This jacket is clean and ready to wear. The exterior is crisp and fresh, and I find no flaws to mention regarding the wool. The satin lining has the only flaws I find to note - it's faded a bit, largely toward the bottom. The arm hole on the right has been resewn by hand. And the interior right chest has ripples and snags, I suspect from whatever brooch the original owner tended to wear with her clothing. I find no other issues to note.
