This vintage 1950s dress set is an absolute knockout, one of those pieces that is really even cooler than you thought on first glance. The print is of DRAGON head, firey and stylized in black on brown and pink and with fuchsia. The background is ecru - not a tanned white, I don't believe this color was ever brighter. The dress is strapless, edged with pink piping at the ruched bust. The skirt is full, with plenty of room for a crinoline, but is not a circle shape. It has a pocket on the right side. The really fantastic element of this is the triangular matching cape, which is reversible - featuring the print on one side and solid pink linen on the other. It could be tied at front, but it has a button closure that gives it the bolero look at the front. I love it. The dress closes with a sturdy metal zipper up the back.
Bust: 35"-snug 36"
Length: 40" from top of bust
Label: None Present, remnant of size tag remains
This set is clean and ready to wear. It has been handwashed and pressed. There is a little tanning at each underarm. The center vent of the skirt has just the tiniest bit of strain. It has been worn and washed, and is probably not quite as saturated as it originally was, but it looks truly gorgeous on. I find no issues to note.
